Get started in dog agility with CCATS
Our six-week Introduction to Agility course is designed for dogs and handlers who are new to the sport.
Across the course, we’ll introduce you to the foundations of agility handling and training through games, tricks, and basic agility equipment. You’ll learn how to communicate with your dog using body language and verbal cues while helping your dog develop body awareness, confidence, and self-control.
By the end of the course, you and your dog will have been introduced to basic agility equipment and the skills you’ll need to continue your agility training.
Who is this course for?
Introduction to Agility is suitable for people who are new to agility and want to learn the sport with their dog.
No previous agility experience is required. However, your dog should have basic recall and obedience skills and must be at least 12 months old before attending.
All human ages are welcome.
What will we learn?
Over the six weeks, we’ll introduce you and your dog to:
- communicating through body language and verbal cues
- basic agility handling
- training through games and tricks
- body awareness
- focus and self-control around distractions
- basic agility equipment
The aim isn’t to rush through equipment. It’s to give both you and your dog the basic skills and understanding needed to train agility safely and successfully.
